Online tour bookings site prove a hit
BRISBANE – Australian based tourstogo.com has taken out the top award at the 2009 Queensland Telstra Business Awards and will compete against other state winners at the national awards in August.
It is only the second company in the 17-year history of the event to win the top Queensland award after winning the micro-business category for companies of five employees or less.
tourstogo.com provides an online booking service to domestic and international travellers who prefer the security of booking their Australian holiday tours in advance and are attracted to the wider variety of tour options all viewed through one site.
Tours available cover all areas of Australia and range from 20-minute aerobatics flights, to an hourly harbour cruise or a three-week outdoor adventure.
tourstogo.com was established in 2005 and the ongoing success is attributed to simple to use but sophisticated technology that allows it to stay up-to-date, offer a wide range of tours and cater for all tour variations including packages, extra offers, alternate tour times and pick up variations.
Founder of tourstogo.com, Elise Warring, said consumers no longer have to search multiple websites for tour information and to make a booking.
“The immediacy of the technology used also enables tour operators to update the site with their latest prices ensuring consumers get the best deal. The “Hot Deals†section of the site is one of the most popular,†she said.
