PATA meeting set for San Francisco

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Northern California Chapter hosts this year’s PATA North America Division & Chapters 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) — November 29-December 2 at the Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco.

The AGM begins on 29 November with a Steering Committee Meeting for Chapter Leaders who will begin discussion on the new role for PATA Chapters in North America.

Seminars, panels and presentations will provide forums on subjects that include “Reviving the image of the US as a ‘USer Friendly’ destination, inbound/outbound tourism stats for North America and the impact of global warming on tourism,” among others.

Both PATA members and non-members are welcome to register.

PATA President & CEO, Peter de Jong, will address “Redefining Relevance: PATA’s Role in the New Century” that includes reinforcing PATA’s commitment to promote inbound tourism from Asia and the Pacific to North America, and provide an update on “PATA’s CEO Challenge 2008” the impact of global warming on tourism.

Two-way tourism statistics from/to North America will be a hot topic featuring current travel trends and forecasts, according to PATA.
