Rescue efforts continue after US tornadoes
Rescue efforts continue the US after storms and tornadoes killed at least 44 people across six states.
More than 240 tornadoes were reported over three days from Thursday to Sunday, with 60 tornadoes in North Carolina alone killing 21 people, the highest toll for any of the states hit.
A White House spokesman said the government is ready to provide aid to those affected.
The storms swept across Oklahoma and Arkansas on Thursday and Friday then through Mississippi and Alabama and up through Virginia and North Carolina.
They also caused damage in Texas and Georgia.
