SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc changes name
Theme park operator SeaWorld Entertainment is changing its name.
Effective from February 12, 2024, SeaWorld will be known as United Parks & Resorts Inc.
The listed company’s stock ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange will also change from SEAS to PRKS, and trading as PRKS begins February 13, 2024.
United Parks& Resorts operates seven brands across 13 parks in the US and Abu Dhabi.
The name change affects only the name of the parent company – SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc.
All the branded parks – SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove, Sesame Place, Water Country USA, Adventure Island, and Aquatica will retain their respective names.
“Our new company name better reflects that we have been, and will continue to be, a diverse collection of park brands and experiences,” said CEO, Marc Swanson.
“Each of our parks, including the four SeaWorld parks will continue to operate under the same names our guests know.”
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi opened last year in the United Arab Emirates.
As part of the corporate name change, the main website and investors website domains will change to UnitedParks.com and UnitedParksInvestors.com.
