Spirit Airlines adding Ecuador, Haiti flights
Budget carrier Spirit Airlines is spreading its wings to two new international destinations.
First up is year-round daily service to Guayaquil, Ecuador from its Fort Lauderdale hub beginning March 22, 2018.
It is noteworthy as Guayaquil’s Jose Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport is a gateway for trips to the Galapagos Islands.
A month later, three times a week service to Haiti’s Cap-Haïtien International Airport from FLL will begin.
It takes off on April 12, 2018 and joins the airline’s existing service from FLL to the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince.
Both routes are still pending the respective government approvals.
Once they launch, Spirit will fly to a total of 54 destinations in the US, Caribbean and Latin American from Fort Lauderdale.
It also recently announced new domestic routes to the South Florida airport linking Seattle, Columbus, Ohio and Richmond, Virginia beginning early next year.
