Strikes ground flights in Argentina
Flights have been grounded and transport networks closed after a huge strike hit Argentina.
The strike, which has been called by two of Argentina’s biggest unions over high taxes and discontentment over the economy, has paralysed much of Buenos Aires and other cities with banks, courts and schools also closed.
Most trains and underground lines remained closed and flights have been grounded at Buenos Aires’ downtown airport.
Workers maintaining aircraft for Aerolineas Argentinas and LAN Argentina are said to be on strike.
International carriers are not affected at the moment.
