Teen seriously injured in ‘dare’ at Texas water park
A teen is fighting for his life after getting sucked into water park drain.
Caden Strimple is in a medically induced coma after suffering serious internal injuries during a visit to Fun Town Water Park in Texas.
The 14-year-old apparently lifted a drain gate and then slipped in, Galveston County Sheriff Henry Troschesset said.
"From my understanding, it might have been on a dare. He picked it up, and when he did that he slipped into the intake."
"Even after they turned the pump off, there was still suction keeping him down," Troschesset added.
Police have questioned why the drain gate wasn’t locked down or screwed in place to prevent it being opened.
