Thomas Cook teams up with Hotelbeds
Bedbank Hotelbeds has inked a strategic partnership with recently re-established brand Thomas Cook.
Thomas Cook’s new online-only holiday business will get access to over 180,000 unique hotels in 140 countries via Hotelbeds
Thomas Cook becomes one of Hotelbeds’ 60,000-plus travel trade buyers, which include tour operators, travel agents and airlines.
"All of us at Hotelbeds are immensely pleased to see Thomas Cook relaunching and we’re delighted to be able to support their new model. We look forward to watching it grow once again into one of Europe’s leading holiday brands," said Leon Herce, Global Sales Director at Hotelbeds.
Thomas Cook just recently re-established itself as an OTA under owner Fosun Tourism Group, which is also the parent company of Club Med.
According to Emma King, head of commercial product, Thomas Cook is currently only selling holidays to destinations on the UK government’s travel corridor list, including Turkey, Italy and some parts of Greece.
That will be updated when current travel restrictions change or are lifted.
"When we were developing our new Thomas Cook we wanted to offer our customers the widest possible choice of hotel accommodation and to be able to do that quickly without the need for direct contracting," King said.
"We look forward to growing and scaling our business working alongside Hotelbeds to respond to growing customer demand for holidays."
HolidayTaxis Group recently signed a partnership with Thomas Cook as transfers supplier.
