Travel agent busted for scamming large group
An upstate New York travel agent was arrested and is facing up to 15 felony charges after defrauding a large group of would-be vacationers.
Crystal Dragone, 64, of Canadice, Ontario County, faces multiple charges related to grand larceny and scheming to defraud.
As the owner of Dragone Travel, she was instructed by a group of 22 people to arrange a trip to Cancun, Mexico, and, collected $26,275 from them.
No tickets were ever booked, investigators allege.
She also allegedly defrauded at least two other customers.
The police have widened the investigation of Dragone and additional charges are likely, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said.
