Travel recruitment agency signs for green scheme
C&M Travel Recruitment has signed up to the Green Achiever scheme.
The move is designed to demonstrate the company’s green credentials to suppliers and customers, seeking such organisations.
The scheme, covering three grades from self-assessment to a full environmental audit, has been developed by environmental consultancy E4 environment.
C&M managing director Angus Chisholm said: “We have always demonstrated a basic environmental awareness, for example, recycling paper and toner cartridges.
“However, we now consider other areas of the business, such as travel, sustainability and carbon emissions too. Green Achiever has also brought our staff together in a shared purpose, will save us money in reduced energy costs and be of benefit when we tender for contracts.”
E4 environment director Mandy Stoker said: “Everyone’s talking about the government’’s environmental policies and how our behaviour and neglect is leading to changes in the climate.
“The public is becoming increasingly vocal about what they expect from retailers and manufacturers, for example, less packaging and more recyclable products and packaging, as well as services and products that are environmentally friendly.
“Over 40 businesses a month now register with Green Achiever from a range of sectors and varying sizes including retail, IT, manufacturing and professional services sole traders, SMEs and large corporations.”
