Thursday, 11 Dec, 2008 0

TravelTrac (www.traveltrac.com), a developer of travel and trip sharing domains, announced today the early adoption release of TrekTrac (www.trektrac.com) their premiere no cost travel sharing application dedicated to land based exploration and adventure travel. TravelTrac venues offer the adventure traveler an integration of web 2.0 mash-up technologies and remote access features to stay connected and share their travel adventures via the web. TrekTrac provides no cost service to the active traveler allowing them to share their global adventures in virtual real time with friends and family back home, or fellow travel enthusiasts’ worldwide. Public release is slated for December 15th, 2008.

TrekTrac integrates custom Google maps of route and current position; permits the easy submission of journal entries, upload and geotag photos, and even video. Import an address book of friends and TrekTrac will automatically notify a user’s contacts when you make updates to your travel adventures while en route or underway.

“More comprehensive than a travel blog, TrekTrac incorporates remote access features that allows the active traveler to “fall off the grid, but stay on the map” – even when direct Internet access is unavailable.” says John Noller, TravelTrac’s CEO and founder. “Using any remote wireless device with a data enabled service plan permits a user to send real time updates to their travel adventures – from anywhere on the globe as it happens. Our TrekTrac travel sharing application automatically uploads, formats, and post position reports to your own custom Google Maps, integrates current weather conditions for that destination, accepts text, photo, and video files via remote or wireless e-mail and then notifies a traveler’s address book of friends to participate in the journey.”

It is easy to document, market, or share any travel adventure – past or present: and highlight services and offerings available to customers from adventure travel companies and service providers.
