We’ll make hurricanes fun, says Florida tourism boss
Florida tourism bosses have urged holidaymakers not to cancel their trips to the state in the wake of Hurricane Dennis that tore through Cuba before glancing Florida.
Head of Visit Florida Ed Nocera even told tourists it could be “fun” should 120mph winds bring havoc to the region.
“If a hurricane happens during one’s vacation, we will make it completely fun for them,” he said, adding that tourist attractions are planning to give out free breakfasts and other perks should hurricanes hit tourist areas.
Appealing for tourists not to cancel their trips, Nocera added: “No country or state is better prepared to deal with hurricanes than Florida.”
