Will Southwest Airlines end 50 years of Boeing history and shift to Airbus?
Is the Southwest Airlines – Boeing love affair coming to an end? It has endured for nearly 50 years but there is growing speculation the Dallas based carrier plans to transacition away from being a Boeing-only customer. It has reportedly been looking at the Airbus A220 as a replacement for some of its older Boeing 737 jets.
If it happens, it seems the Boeing 737 Max fiasco is the catalyst, with Southwest still demanding hefty compensation for the long grounding of the jet.
