Worldres.com partners with Marriot International
Online hotel reservation network WorldRes.com, has signed agreement with Marriott International to distribute more than 2,400 worldwide hotels through a new XML link.
Through the agreement, Marriott hotels will be bookable on the WorldRes network of leading travel Web sites such as AOL, OPODO.com and PlacesToStay.com.
The following Marriott brands will be included: Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites, JW Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance, Residence Inn, Courtyard, TownePlace Suites, Fairfield Inn, SpringHill Suites, Ramada International and Marriott Vacation Club International.
Vice president of sales of WorldRes Don Smith said: “As one of the largest hotel distribution companies, WorldRes continues to search for industry-leading hotels to feature to consumers. With new agreements, such as this one with Marriott, we offer the most lodging choices available both on and offline.”
The two-way XML link provides a direct connection to Marriott’s central reservation system, automatically updating hotel supply, rates and inventory. It is also the first hotel supply XML link in accordance with the most current version of the Open Travel Alliance’s (OTA) XML standards for the travel industry.
Senior vice president of Distribution Sales and Marketing, Marriott International Bruce Wolff said: “Marriott is pleased to partner with WorldRes.com to develop its first OTA compliant XML link with a distribution partner.
“This solution will offer WorldRes’ customers access to all of our inventory and rates, which supports our global commitment to a single image inventory.”
