Azura cruise cut short due to electrical problems
Electrical problems on board P&O Cruises’ Azura have forced the cruise line to cut short a 14-night cruise due to leave Southampton this weekend.
The Mediterranean cruise has been cut from 14 to 12 nights and Cadiz and Naples dropped from the itinerary.
The cancellations were a knock-on effect from problems on the ship’s current Norwegian cruise, which meant it had to stay overnight in Flam for repairs and cancel a visit to Stavanger.
As a result, it will arrive 24 hours late into Southampton tomorrow (Saturday) and the next cruise won’t leave until Sunday afternoon.
Giving updates on its Facebook page, P&O said: "We know that there are a number of wedding parties and other celebrations planned for Azura’s next cruise and we are working hard to ensure that we make this a fantastic cruise for everyone.
"We are so sorry about this delay and thank all our passengers again for your patience."
It said tours for Cadiz and Naples will be refunded.
Guests on board the Norway cruise have been offered £100 per person in on-board credit as compensation.
