Chicago expansion top priority for Southwest
Southwest Airlines will further expand service at Chicago’s Midway Airport, following its primary competitor, ATA’s bankruptcy filing.
CEO Gary Kelly has set expansion at Midway the airline’s top priority.
Southwest said that it would start daily nonstop service on March 17 between Chicago and Norfolk, Va., and Salt Lake City, and one additional daily flight each to Orlando, Fla., Phoenix, Ariz., and Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
These are in addition to the 16 additional daily nonstop flights from Midway previously announced for early next year, increasing to 166 daily total departures.
