China Airlines passengers required to check in online
Taiwan based China Airlines will now make online check-in compulsory for all passengers.
The airline wants to minimise in-person contact as much as possible.
It also includes customers of regional brand Mandarin Airlines.
CAL said customers can check in on the website or mobile app up to 48 hours ahead of departure and at least 80 minutes before.
It said there will be minimal ground staff at the check-in area at airports but it is suspending all kiosk check-in services.
Once passengers have completed online check-in they may check luggage in at the airport or at the Taipei Main Station MRT
Those without checked baggage can go directly to the departure lounge at least 40 minutes before scheduled take-off.
The airline operates out of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taichung International Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport
