Cruise lines boost DVD run to 300,000
Cruise lines in the Complete Cruise Solution are to provide promotional DVDs to all Thomas Cook branches in the UK.
The sales collective for Carnival brands Cunard, P&O Cruises, Ocean Village and Princess Cruises initially released 5,000 of the DVDs targeting first time cruisers but increased a second run to 300,000 after interest from Thomas Cook.
The DVD features actress Helen Lederer dispelling stereotypical objections raised by people who have never taken a cruise holiday.
Caroline Clark, spokeswoman for new media consultancy M-Corp which created the DVD, said: “The benefit of this piece being digital was that we could tweak the presentation and incorporate the Thomas Cook brand and message without having to start over, as we would have with a printed piece. Our second run is 300,000 units to provide DVDs to every Thomas Cook store in the country.”
Meanwhile, the Complete Cruise Solution has promoted sales and events training executive Victoria Simmons to sales operations manager, responsible for managing training, events and communication with travel agents. Ms Simmons will also handle fam trips, ship visits and annual cruise awards for agents.
She replaces Caroline Clark who is taking up a placement with Voluntary Services Overseas as a communications advisor for youth and social development in India.
