Cruise ship crashes in bad weather
A P&O Cruises ship crashed into another ship during bad weather at Palma de Mallorca.
Its mooring lines broke in heavy winds and collided with a cargo vessel.
Ship Britannia suffered some damage and several people suffered minor injuries.
Passengers had been told to remain indoors as 75 mph winds swept across the sea.
P&O Cruises said a ‘small number’ of people were injured.
The P&O Cruises ship was due to depart Mallorca on Sunday afternoon but stayed in port overnight.
It was set for a technical assessment before leaving Palma.
Passengers said the heavy rain and winds appeared suddenly.
Elsewhere in the Balearics, several flights were grounded due to the bad weather.
