EasyJet holidays bans animal attractions

Saturday, 15 Mar, 2024 1

EasyJet holidays has updated its animal welfare policy, ditching all tours that include animal-based attractions.

Animal welfare is a key priority of its business operations, it says.

After consulting animal welfare charities including World Animal Protection, it has scrapped all animal attraction focused tours.

This includes animal rides, zoos, animal performances, and marine parks.

These attractions will no longer be promoted by easyJet

The move has been applauded by animal rights group PETA.

Additionally, easyJet says it will encourage hotel partners to follow its animal welfare policy.

Matt Callaghan, easyJet holidays’ COO, said: “Our own research tells us that sustainable travel experiences are important to our customers, so we want to make it easy for them to holiday better.”

Katheryn Wise, wildlife campaigns manager at World Animal Protection UK, said: “EasyJet holidays has really stepped up for animals with this strong and ambitious animal welfare policy.”

“It has been a pleasure to work with a company focused on listening to their customers.”
