Gale force winds disrupt travel
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning as most of the UK is battered by gale force winds.
Travel is facing disruption with operators advising passenger to check for regular updates.
P&O Ferries is reporting cancellations and delays and advised customers it would be updating sailing information through the day.
It said there were delays of up to an hour on services between Dover and Calais due to adverse weather conditions.
Flights are also affected with British Airways warning passengers to check their flight’s status, adding: "Strong winds are affecting flights across the UK and Europe today."
