Girl jailed for smuggling cocaine through Gatwick
A woman who tried to smuggle 9kg of high purity cocaine through Gatwick airport has been jailed for 4 years.
Aimee Mason, 22, of Dagenham, was stopped by airport staff on 27 November last year after returning from a holiday to Antigua.
Her baggage was searched and the class A drugs, which had a purity of around 70 per cent and an estimated street value of £360,000, were found hidden in one of her suitcases.
Despite previously claiming she knew nothing about the drugs, Mason pleaded guilty to a charge of drugs smuggling when she appeared at Croydon crown court last week.
