Globus Appoints Australasian Marketing Manager
Leading tour operator Globus has appointed Christian Schweitzer as its Marketing Manager for Australasia, taking on marketing responsibilities across the group’s successful family of brands.
Mr Schweitzer was previously Globus Marketing Communications Co-ordinator and has acted in the Marketing Manager role since October 2007.
Globus Australasia Managing Director Stewart Williams said he was pleased to announce Mr Schweitzer’s formal promotion to the role, which involved marketing responsibility for the Globus, Cosmos and Avalon Waterways brands in Australia and New Zealand.
“Christian has done an outstanding job overseeing the marketing of our brands since he stepped forward in October and we look forward to yet further success under his ongoing leadership,” Mr Williams said. “The Globus group has experienced exceptional growth in the Australasian markets during the past year and we are confident of continuing development under a strong marketing team.”
Mr Schweitzer joined Globus in March 2003 and has more than 10 years’ experience in the travel and tourism sector, having worked for companies including Bridge the World Travel and Odyssey Travel. Mr Schweitzer is studying for his MBA at Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
The Globus family of brands has been a leading provider of travel needs for more than 80 years, having been a pioneer of group travel in the 1920s. Globus is the world’s largest escorted travel company and offers a diverse range of holiday products including fully escorted tours, premium tours, independent travel and river cruises.
