Holland America Line to begin Cuba cruises in December
Holland America is the latest cruise line heading to Cuba.
HAL said ms Veendam will start Cuba sailings from Port Everglades in time for the Christmas holiday season with a 12-day maiden voyage on December 22, 2017 calling at Havana and Cienfuegos.
There will be a further nine seven-day sailings through April 18, 2018 with calls in Havana and three sailings also docking at Cienfuegos.
"For many, travel is about seeking new places to explore and discovering meaningful new cultural opportunities, and Cuba is one of the most sought-after new destinations for many of our guests," said HAL president Orlando Ashford.
"We are excited to finally be able to include Cuba in our itineraries, and our guests and travel partners have been anxiously awaiting a premium cruise experience."
Depending on the sailing, voyages will also call at Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, Belize City, Cozumel, Turks and Caicos, Key West and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Bookings for the Cuba sailings will open tomorrow May 26, HAL said.
