Hurricane heads to Hawaii
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office has revised its travel advice urging Brits in Hawaii to ‘monitor the programme of approaching storms in the Pacific and follow instructions issued by the local Hawaiian authorities’.
The hurricane and tropical storm were heading west across the Pacific Ocean toward Hawaii, where officials closed schools and warned residents to prepare emergency disaster kits.
Hawaiian Airlines will waive reservation change fees and differences in fares for customers who need to change their travel plans ahead of Hurricane Iselle and Tropical Storm Julio.
The airline said customers who are ticketed for travel today ( August 7) or tomorrow will be permitted to change their reservations without charge to flights through August 12.
Changes must be made through official channels prior to the departure of the originally scheduled flight and ticketed on or before August 12.
Customers are advised to check the airlines’ website at www.HawaiianAirlines.com for updates on status of flights this week.
