Maximising Tourism Safety in Turkey

Sunday, 30 Aug, 2006 0

As the DFAT travel advisory on Turkey has correctly indicated, the PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) has chosen to undertake a number of bombings in Turkey in the period surrounding the anniversary of its foundation.

Traditionally PKK attacks in Turkey tend to be random in nature and targeted at places where large numbers of people congregate. At this time tourists in Turkey will experience a far higher degree of safety and security if they are part of an organised tour program than if they travel independently. Security measures at hotels and for tour parties have been upgraded.

As a responsible operator of tours to Turkey, Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre is closely monitoring the situation in Turkey with our local operators.
