Mohegan named operator for New York casino bid
Mohegan has joined developer Soloviev Group in its bid for the New York casino license for Freedom Plaza.
It comes as a result of the New York State Gaming Commission’s tender to develop and operate up to three downstate casinos.
Mohegan operates eight integrated resorts in the US, Canada, and Northern Asia.

Mohegan’s flagship property, Mohegan Sun is located in Uncasville, Connecticut, and is one of the world’s largest casinos.
It has properties in Atlantic City, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and Ridgefield, Wa.
Mohegan made history in 2021 as the first tribe to operate a casino on the Las Vegas strip.
The proposed Freedom Plaza introduces the world’s first museum dedicated to the celebration of freedom and democracy.
Freedom Plaza will house a live venue, Ferris Wheel, a 1,000+ room hotel, and two residential towers.
Freedom Plaza is a short walk from the 34th Street ferry and Grand Central Station.
