Suva Fiji Aus travel advisory lowered
While the overall level of the advice for travel to Fiji has not changed, DFAT issued a lowered advisory for travel to Suva this morning to “high degree of caution” the same as the rest of Fiji.
DFAT’s overall advice remains that travellers should exercise a high degree of caution when travelling in Fiji due what they describe as the volatile political and security situation, but this was not the experience or impression gained by The Mole in January, or by international tourism and travel crisis management specialist and TravelMole correspondent, David Beirman, in Fiji right now running recovery training programmes. His view is covered in another article on TravelMole today.
DFAT also recommends that because of the uncertain security situation, travellers should register with DFAT – click here – so they can contact you in the case of an emergency.
