The most preferred mode of travel within Europe?
With airfares remaining high even for short intra-Europe flights, train travel is the top choice.
There is the growing move by choice to more sustainable transportation, while some governments get tough on emissions by banning some short-haul flights altogether.
This has combined to create a more competitive rail friendly travel market.
It’s not just the choice for leisure travelers either.
Around 70% of all inter-European business travel is by rail.
For Americans and other visitors on a multi-destination European trip this summer, an open-jaw train travel ticket could be the best option.
