US DOT updates airline complaint process
The US Department of Transportation is rolling out an updated air travel complaint procedure for consumers.
The DOT said it would streamline the process and lead to a quicker resolution.
The new system can be accessed online and automatically sends notifications when a complaint is submitted.
“I’m committed to making USDOT work better for the American people. By modernizing our technology and getting rid of outdated legacy systems, we can better serve the traveling public,” said Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
The agency urges travelers to firstly attempt to resolve an issue or complaint directly with the airline or before filing a complaint.
The DOT’s Office of Aviation Consumer Protection (OCAP) logs all complaints and analyzes them for any trending problems which may need new directives or legislation.
