Virgin orders fourth cruise ship
Virgin’s start-up cruise line Voyages Voyages is understood to have ordered a fourth cruise ship, at a cost of around €700 million.
The ship will be built by Fincantieri, which is already building Voyages’ first three vessels at its yard in Genoa.
The first three ships will enter service in 2020, 2012 and 2022 respectively. The fourth ship will be delivered at the end of 2023.
The new vessel, which will be a sister ship to the first three, will have 1,400 guest cabins, accommodating more than 2,770 passengers and 1,100 crew.
Virgin’s first ship, the Scarlet Lady, will be adult-only and will include features such as an athletics club, spa and running track.
