First Indian made commercial plane takes off
The first ever made-in-India commercial plane takes flight today. Alliance Air will operate the Dornier Indian aircraft on the Dibrugarh-Pasighat route, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said.
Alliance Air has agreed to lease two 17-seater Dornier 228 aircraft from state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. It received its first Dornier 228 plane on April 7.
Until now, Dornier Dornier 228 planes have only been operated by the Indian military.
