Greece air traffic control strike called off
Good news for travellers heading on holiday to Greece today.
A strike call by Hellenic Air Traffic Controllers’ Association, which was for a four-hour stoppage, has been ruled illegal.
Flights will operate as normal after a Greek court ruled the planned walkout was illegal.
The planned action was for 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m on Thursday in support of a day long strike by Greece’s public sector union, ADEDY.
The Athens Court of First Instance deemed the ATC secondary strike action to be unlawful.
The ADEDY union called for a national strike protesting a government bill intending to change disciplinary law for civil servants.
Aegean and Olympic Air updated messages to customers confirming all their scheduled flights will operate today as normal.
