HNA Group executives detained by police in China
The chairman and CEO of HNA Group, Chen Feng and Tan Xiangdong, have been detained by police on suspicion of unspecified crimes. The company said there were ‘taken under compulsory measures’ by police but business operations ‘are not affected.’
HNA Group is in the throes of a massive restructuring after piling up huge debts. HNA owns Hainan Airlines and other Chinese carriers and has had stakes in a number of major bands across travel and aviation.
