Online bookings take off for Iberia
Iberia boosted direct sales by a third last year.
The Spanish flag carrier is reporting a 32% increase in online bookings in 2004, totalling over 200 million euros worth of sales.
Three quarters of sales, or 150 million euros, came from the Spanish market. The airline claims its website is the largest-selling commercial website in Spain.
On the back of buoyant bookings Iberia is relaunching its website next month, with faster-loading pages and more functionality for frequent flyer members. It is also adding more general information about the carrier’s destinations and airports.
