UK’s worst airlines revealed

Which? has released its airline rankings, with Wizz Air again ranked last for customer satisfaction.

It gained a score of just 44% and was bottom of the short-haul flights category for the second consecutive year, followed by Ryanair (47%), Iberia (49%) and Vueling (53%).

Although UK air fares were at record highs in 2023, Which? said the standard of customer care ‘fell well short of the mark.’

Which? said Wizz Air got just one star for seat comfort and the cabin environment.

A third IAG airline fared poorly with British Airways ranked in the bottom three for long haul.

For short haul, BA scored 56%, which was fifth lowest.

Jet2 was rated the UK’s best short-haul airline, Which? says.

Singapore Airlines took the top spot for long haul carriers.

“Air fares have soared in recent years, and the bare minimum passengers should expect i is a reliable service, with easy to access customer support when they are let down,” said Rory Boland, editor of Which? Travel.

“Our survey shows that passengers of many airlines are sadly being shortchanged.”

Wizz Air questioned the survey.

“We do not consider the findings of this report to be representative or the methodology used to be transparent,” said Marion Geoffroy, Wizz Air UK MD.

“Only 124 Wizz Air passengers were surveyed, while Which? spoke to several thousand people who had flown with some of our competitors.”
