Newmarket Holidays launches Baltic capitals tour
Newmarket Holidays has launched a new escorted tour package exploring the three Baltic capitals Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius.
The eight-day holiday explores the rich heritage of these cities, with guided tours of the region’s most fascinating sights and attractions.
Starting in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, guests are led through the Hanseatic old town, a thriving commercial hub during the Medieval period.
They visit the Alexander Nevski Cathedral and the grand Kadriorg Palace.
The tour then visits Tartu, the country’s oldest city, to see why it was voted one of Europe’s capitals of culture in 2024.
Continuing to Latvia, guests enjoy the alpine nature of Gauja National Park, with possible sightings of native elk, European bison, and brown bears, before lunch at Sigulda.
In Riga, the escorted tour explores the old town on foot to the Romanesque cathedral, 15th-century castle and Swedish Gate.
En route to Vilnius, guests are guided around the 18th-century Rundale Palace, and to the Hill of Crosses, a Lithuanian pilgrimage site.
The final day tours Vilnius’ rich religious past.
The escorted tour is priced from £1,199 per person, including a £100 saving for bookings made before 31 May 2024.
It includes seven-nights bed and breakfast, tours, transfers, attractions, guides and return flights from regional airports across the UK.
There is a choice of 12 departures starting in April 2025.
